Family Safety, Health & Preparedness Fair


The Sautee Nacoochee Center campus will be buzzing with activity Saturday, October 2, from 10am to 3pm, when it hosts the second Touch-A-Truck: Family Safety, Health & Preparedness Fair.

This free, family-friendly event will feature hands-on displays of multiple specialty emergency vehicles, helicopter fly-in*, fun activities, medical instruction and evaluations, family support resources and more.

Several family and children's events and games are planned including raffles, coloring activities and a scavenger hunt with prizes including building kits courtesy of Home Depot Dahlonega. The Center's museums and galleries will be open to explore at no charge. Refreshments available include BBQ, Kona ice, and free ice cream complements of the Old Sautee Store.

*Helicopter fly-in subject to no local emergencies that day.

On Sautee Nacoochee Center Campus
Saturday, October 2nd, 10am-3pm

  • Smokey Bear will join career and volunteer first responders to spread the word about safety and being prepared for emergencies.
  • Local and regional health service providers, CERT volunteers, White County Public Health and Public Safety, Georgia Forestry Commission, and area support services providing information and resources related to health, safety and emergency preparedness will be on hand.
  • Meet members of the American Red Cross, the local JROTC, the local Girl Scout troup presenting first aid kits and Boy Scouts showing safety on the hiking trail.
  • A special guest appearance by the crime fighting Night Rider Car accompanied by Batman and Wonder Woman is planned.
  • For those interested adults, the Public Health Breast Cancer Awareness Program will be on campus.

Come honor our first responders and spend a few hours having fun and learning about health, safety and emergency preparedness resources in our community!
