The Center has always placed great importance on programs for the younger members of the community - classes and activities in the visual and performing arts. Young creative spirits need to be nurtured in the notion that creativity is not a secondary part of a well rounded life but an essential element at its very core.

The Nova Marie Adams Scholarship Fund
Students ages 12 - 16 will create multimedia art pieces while learning about the elements/principles of art and design.
This will be a 6-week artshop on Mondays in September and October, 3:45 - 5:45pm, in the SNC Art Studio.
In this art shop students will learn about color theory, how to mix colors, and how to apply different values, shading, highlights and shadows to their art work.
This class provides the basic tools for a child to become a "tuneful, beatful, and artful" person! Sessions will include singing games and sing-along songs, practices in building musical skills and movement vocabulary.
Younger children will learn about spatial orientation, keeping a steady beat, and locomotion skills while older kids will participate in folk dances.
Join us for Valley Homeschool Days, the third Thursday of each month, at SNCA! Drop your children off for a seasonal art project in the Historic Gym and return for family lunch and play on the playground.
Join us for Kids Yoga! Strength, flexibility, and coordination are focused on with a greater understanding of body awareness. Yoga sequences, breathing, balance poses, and relaxation are taught to build a child's confidence in their abilities while practicing in a non-competitive environment. Please send a water bottle with your child. Yoga mat and snack will be provided.
This will be a 6-week session on Thursdays in October - November from 3:30 - 5 pm in the Community Hall and on the Outdoor Stage.

The Nova Marie Adams Scholarship Fund is in memory of Nova Marie Adams who was involved in youth arts programs at the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center between 2013 and 2019. The fund provides financial assistance to children, through age 17, who want to participate in youth programs at SNC but whose families do not have the necessary financial resources.
