YOUTH CLASSES AND EVENTS

The Center has always placed great importance on programs for the younger members of the community - classes and activities in the visual and performing arts. Young creative spirits need to be nurtured in the notion that creativity is not a secondary part of a well rounded life but an essential element at its very core.

Check out the activities listed below and sign up by calling the center at 706-878-3300.

SAUTEE STARS! THE LITTLE MERMAID JR

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above. But first, she will have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she is the girl whose enchanting voice he has been seeking.

Our 2-week Summer Theatre Arts Camp will feature a performance of Peace Child, The Musical

Around the world, there have been over 10,000 performances of Peace Child, The Musical, with each one set fifty years in the future in a peaceful and sustainable world.

The overview is that the story is told in a flashback to the present and tells what the children of today do with their lives to bring about that future world that we all want.

Each performance is different as every cast is invited to imagine that they are the young people in the story. They are encouraged to develop their own characters, write new songs, lines and sometimes whole scenes to accommodate their ideas.

Peace Child's goal is to empower these young adults to imagine how they will change the world for the better in their lifetimes.
