Discovery Tours
Discovery Tours are offered every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Sautee Nacoochee Center. They begin at 1 p.m. in the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, where tour guides introduce the museum and its history to attendees. The informal "front porch" style discussion is designed to unearth the unique talents of artists from the Appalachian Foothills of Georgia while focusing on the Museum's current exhibit.
After that, the tour becomes self-guided. Visit the Gallery Shops in the Cultural Center to view a wide array of original, one-of-a-kind art by 200+ local artists. Gallery volunteers are available to answer questions and assist with sales.
Then explore the Nacoochee History Museum, the African American Heritage Site, the Native Peace Garden, or enjoy a walk on the half-mile footpath that encircles the campus. The entire tour takes about an hour.
