White County
CORK & KEG FESTIVAL

A New Beer and Wine Festival
presented by the
Sautee Nacoochee Community Association
to debut in scenic Alpine Helen

Are beer drinkers and wine fanciers more compatible than, say, Republicans and Democrats? Cats and dogs? Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno? That will be determined at the first White County Cork & Keg Festival in Helen, Ga., on April 10 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., presented by the Sautee Nacoochee Community Association.

The scenic Chattahoochee and Northeast Georgia mountains serves as the backdrop for this new Spring festival featuring tastes of craft-brewed beers from some of the nation’s best independent brewers (including Georgia’s own Sweetwater Brewing and Terrapin Beer) and award-winning wines from local Georgia vintners. Meanwhile, some of the area’s finer restaurants will cook up sumptuous samples from their menus, and local musicians will offer food for the sonic soul.

The event will be held at the Helen Festhalle, headquarters of the picturesque Alpine village’s world-famous Oktoberfest celebration, and a short walk from hotels, shops, restaurants and all of Helen’s family-friendly attractions.

Admission is limited to the first 400 ticket buyers. Each participant will receive a complimentary tasting glass (courtesy of Sweetwater Brewing) and one meal ticket. Delicious goodies will also be available for purchase. Winemakers and brewers will be on hand to enlighten festival participants on the unique aspects of each product.

Celebrate spring in the mountains
with good food, drink and music!

All of this good taste will support a good cause – the festival is a fundraiser for the Sautee Nacoochee Community Association (SNCA), a non-profit organization committed to preserving and protecting the natural and historical resources of the area, and dedicated to nurturing creativity. Proceeds will help fund performing arts at SNCA. The White County Cork & Keg Festival at the Helen Festhalle takes place on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.

SNCA maintains the Sautee Nacoochee Center, a thriving cultural and community center housed in a restored rural schoolhouse. The Center offers a folk pottery museum, theatre, gallery, art studio, dance studio, history museum, heritage site, nature preserve, environmental studies room and conference facilities. SNCA has established Sautee Nacoochee as an official Historic District and one of . . .

"The 100 Best Small Arts Towns in America."

In addition to SNCA, sponsors include Sweetwater Brewing, Terrapin Beer, the Helen Chamber of Commerce, Alpine Helen/White County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, White County Chamber of Commerce and Winegrowers of White County.
