Wiley and the Hairy Man

The Gainesville Theatre Alliance's Repertory Company will present Wiley and the Hairy Man, by Susan Zeder, on February 25th at 4:00 pm, in the black box theatre.

Set deep within the mysterious Tombigee Swamp, Wiley and the Hairy Man centers around a young fatherless boy, his conjure-woman mother, his faithful hound dog and the Hairy Man who haunts Wiley's days and dreams.

Suitable for all audiences, but suggested for grades 2-5. Ticket price is $2. Box office opens one hour before the performance.




Playwrights Showcase

Playwright's ShowcaseThe Sautee Nacoochee Center organized a One Act Play Competition and Showcase for original works by new playwrights. The winning plays will be performed before a live audience, in our theater, February 28, 2009 at 8:00 pm.

The three winning One Acts are:

  • The Girl Who Walked with Music by Jon Dahlstrom
  • Me by Maia Akiva
  • 'Twas the Night Before Christmas Carol by Tim Quigley

The three winning One Acts will have staged readings followed by audience feedback and professional insight.

Tickets are $5 plus tax.

The widely acclaimed community story performance, returns for SummerFest 2009 with an entirely new play about families and friends, in-laws and outlaws, trials and triumphs. Birth, Death and Places In-Between will feature local performers using music, movement, puppets, and more to paint a rich portrait of life in this Goodly Portion of Beautiful Northeast Georgia."
