BLUE PLANET
RESOURCING COMPANY

The Sautee Valley has a new business, The Blue Planet ReSourcing Company; co-founded by Julie Prothro and the Reeds—Billy, Cissy, Dustin and Dylan. Today, Americans send over 13million tons of glass to landfills every year with only 2.76 million, about 25%, being recycled. The Blue Planet company started collecting glass this summer in White county and is committed to upcycling products from glass that would otherwise go to our landfill to sit for the next million years. That’s right; glass does not decompose, cannot be incinerated and will last over 1,000,000 years in the ground. The Blue Planet upcycled glass will be processed with as little environmental impact as possible and used in landscaping and design projects. They will begin collecting glass from the community at the Simple Breakfast on September 26th, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and one Saturday a month on the same say as SNCA breakfast, So, please save your glass and reduce our landfill and help them create sustainable and beautiful alternatives to the beautiful life we’ve come to expect here in the Valley.

They will accept all glass and only ask that you remove lids, corks (which they will also collect), and then rinse (to reduce the fly and insect problem in storage). Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the SNCA.
