Create-a-Class
Ever thought about taking an art class..but didn’t know where to start? So many mediums to try and explore, and not enough time?
The Art Studio at the Sautee Nacoochee Center has just the thing for you. Build your own class! Get a group together and tell us what you want to learn! We are taking your suggestions and working toward putting together art classes that are geared to our communities needs. Have a group of friends that would like to try out watercolor? How about a one or two day class with all materials supplied! Always wanted to take the plunge and try out oils? A mini workshop with all the materials you need would be just the thing. Pastels, Pen and Ink, Collage, Watercolor... these and more are regularly scheduled classes at the center. Just click here to see some of our offerings.
Since our regular schedule fills up so fast, we find that many people feel left out when they can’t get in a popular class. Now we have a solution. Tell us what you want, and as soon as we have enough people to make a class, we will BUILD one just for you! Weekend classes, and one or two week workshops are in the plans! Just tell us how we can make art happen for YOU.
Our next regular Quarter begins the week of April 7 and there is still room in a few of the classes. Call the Center to find out what is open, or to express your interest in an art class of your choosing.
Or you can email Robin Miltner, Art Studio Director at artsnca@gmail.com and tell us what you would like to take, and we will let you know the moment we can BUILD IT!
SAUTEE TO TUSCANY and BACK
10 Days, 17 Artists, 1 Happy Group of Artists!
Artists on tripod chairs dotting the countryside...palettes of oils paint, boxes of multicolored pastels, pens, inks, watercolors...that was just some of the scene recently in Panzano in Chianti- Tuscany Italy. The SAUTEE To TUSCANY art trip was a major success and a great time was had by everyone. Spending time in the actual countryside and seeing the pale pastel tones of the ancient stone buildings, the grey-bluegreens of the olive trees and the patchwork vineyard designs of the rolling hillsides were an invaluable experience for the group of 16 students and instructor Robin Miltner. The whole troup worked daily in Plein Air, capturing the lovely vistas and unique skyline of 10th-15th century stone buildings and all their many nuances." First hand experience is the best teacher" says Art Studio Director Robin Miltner, " and these students were willing and eager pupils of the ambiance of the area!" " I very much look forward to the many more wonderful pieces of art that will come from this experience, and witnessing the individual growth that occurred during the trip was amazing."

Be sure to come and see "A TASTE OF TUSCANY" when the group will have a separate display of some of the artwork from the trip. The artwork will be shown in the Center Gallery in mid May, and the student group will be hosting a TUSCANY TEA 4:00-6:00 PM on Wed. May 28, where you can see photos from the trip and talk with the artists.
Watch here for more photos of the trip coming soon!
