Certificates We AwardCertificate of AchievementEach student classified as "regular status who completes at
least eight weeks of any one quarters work in a studio course or
who successfully completes a seminar/reading course is awarded a Certificate
of Achievement, acknowledging the study done during that course.
Scholars CertificateA student who, within a minimum of one calendar year, has earned at least four Certificates of Achievement or who completes at least four quarters work within five years, is awarded a Scholars Certificate acknowledging a consistent commitment to the study of art. If, during a year, a student completes five, six or seven courses, the Scholars Certificate will be labeled "With Merit", if eight, nine or ten courses are completed, the Certificate will read "with Distinction"; eleven or more courses completed in one year will earn a Certificate "With Honors." The number of Scholars Certificates earned reflects the number of actual years of study completed at the Studio. Each Scholars Certificate earned qualifies one to exhibit in the Studios annual Scholars Show held each November in the Clarkesville Library. Presidents CertificateA student who completes a minimum of three full years (twelve quarters) within a five-year span, or who has earned three Scholars Certificates within a five-year period, is awarded the Presidents Certificat, attesting to the seriousness and success with which the student has pursued the study of art. Each Presidents Certificate earned entitles one to a Studio-sponsored solo exhibit.
Fellow of the StudioA student who completes a minimum of five full years (twenty quarters), or who has earned five Scholar's Certificates is awarded a certificate that names him or her Fellow of the Studio. This is the highest award granted by the Studio and bestows upon its recipient the status of lifetime Associate of the Studio, with all the privileges pertaining thereto. Among other functions, the Fellows of the Studio serve as the Studio's Scholarship Committee and serve as an advisory committee for various programs and volunteer services within the Art Studio. |
